We caught the last wave of travel to New Mexico before the Coronavirus contained us to our homes. We drove up towards Taos to look at the Earthships. They are homes that are self sustainable and built from recycled materials, including tires, glass and plastic bottles, mud, and reclaimed metal and wood. And they are quite beautiful and artistic! The homes are designed to recycle and filter water obtained from cisterns, harness electricity from solar and wind, and contain a greenhouse to grow food. Off grid and environmentally sound. It was fascinating and I wanted to put it on your radar. To find out more details, click HERE!
